April 18 Fun LoveFun Love
Oh how I would cradle you
softly stroke your hair, simply do
and play as children do, entwine our hands
raising them way high in the air
tickle and wrestle until we land
chat and giggle all the night
I wish I may, I wish I might
mix your gentle essence with mine
kiss your heart until it melts like chocolate
I hope it's possible sometime

She breezed softly into his life, took his breath away
One enchanting summer cloudless day
And their night was clear
As the stars did appear
From time immemorial to here
Time waits for nothing
As eternal as the North Star
No reprieve, no courteous pause
No delay for pain or sorrow
Forever en route, unswerving towards tomorrow
While we survive today for someday
Out of the clear as you watched perplexed
She swiftly summoned clouds to surround
Her now misty summit
Though her feet suggested roots in the ground
A thunderhead roiling, a hateful cauldron boiling
Her mounting tempest blowing your mind with an
Unyielding, sanctimonious, hypocritical storm of fury
Scorning Christ, passing judgment by assuming
God's role of jury
Time waits for no one
Heartless and out of pace
With our need for respite to heal lost hope
To meet head on our regret and grief
Stealing precious dreams
Like a nonchalant and petty thief
Her menacing funnel twisted
The love you once had shared
Raging at you tight-fisted
Then she blew on schizoid and scared
Time waits for no one
And tomorrow never arrives
The best of life is in today
Only in this moment do we live out our lives
Then the moment ticks away
You called upon me for shelter
An anchor of hope amidst the storm
I embraced you alee
For this storm had not come for me
Though I've weathered one or two myself
It was the hope I retained only from those storms that
I could pass on this hope of such scope and wealth
The black clouds now gone though
They left behind a ravaged soul
You allowed me into your inner sanctum
Where we all hide our secrets and woe
And I who had built a castle of thick walls
To keep out the foe
Built a bridge for you to enter my sacred asylum
So of my secrets and woes you now know
Time rolls on as we look ahead
While one hand grips tightly 'round a rope
Striving to replace our dread
With religious faith and hope
Should time send new storms passing through
We always have God
For just today we have each other
