March 11 Take Me BrokenTake me broken
Will you take me broken?
With the pain in my muscles
And all the pieces of my heart
Lying behind me on the trail
Of misbegotten fairytales
Take me broken,
I can withstand the pain
And the never-ending loss
It no longer matters why
I never called fate's quarter toss
Take me broken
My spirit fire burns low
The little flame is the hottest blue
With the faintest gentle glow
But it's stronger than it appears to be
Because it burns so close to You
Will You use me broken?
This body will not heal
I offer thee my broken heart
Oh how much better it serves Your will
My spirit and heart that have fallen apart
So You want want me broken?
As a sand dollar washed in from the sea
Randomly crushed by the waves upon the beach
Set the wee bony doves free
Oh set them free!
Spirit us up high, away so self is hard to reach
Only then am I able to see what beautiful gifts You have given me
So, take me broken and use my sad
Take the tiny, humble flame I have
And my high flying doves,
And the shards of my heart
I know now are simply precious gifts of love
That you had to break apart.
